Forest Products Association of Nova Scotia

NS Forest Products FPANS is a forest industry association and is recognized as the "Voice of the Forest Industry" in Nova Scotia.

We are the largest organization of forest interests in the province. FPANS was formed in 1934 and since that time has served a wide cross section of those involved in forestry - sawmill operators, silviculture and harvesting contractors, pulp & paper companies, Christmas tree growers, woodland truckers, maple sugar producers, small and large land owners and others with an interest in forestry.

The association, through a volunteer Board of Directors and numerous technical committees, cooperates with industry, federal and provincial governments and other stakeholders to ensure that forest management and stewardship policies are followed. FPANS advocates sustainability and diversity of the forest on behalf of our membership. Each of our members is encouraged to exhibit leadership through environmentally sound forest management practices.

FPANS Mission Statement: "To promote sustainable management and viability of the forest industry and act as the official voice of the forest industry"

The Forest Products Association of Nova Scotia is working to conserve the productivity of our forest; and, sustain natural forest ecological processes and provide continuing employment, recreational and cultural benefits to Nova Scotians.
